The hedge funds industry has in previous years experienced substantial growth and now faces an uncertain future. It is certain that some firms will not survive but we believe that there will always be a place for alternative investment strategies in the investment management industry.

We expect to see new entrants in the market following the shakeout in the banking sector which is releasing talented traders seeking new challenges. Such a development could in time bring about a return in confidence and the beginning of recovery.

Now in its third year, this survey focuses exclusively on hedge funds, covering 25 countries.
