Emmanuel Asiedu is the Head of Tax and Regulatory Services with responsibility for providing taxation, corporate and general advisory services for a number of clients in most sectors of the economy.
Before he became the Tax Partner, Emmanuel was an audit Partner in Charge of a number of clients in financial services, oil, energy and natural resources sectors for over 10 years.
He led the technical team of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana) on the review of the Internal Revenue Bill which resulted in the promulgation of the Internal Revenue Act, 2000 (Act 592).
He is a Faculty Member of the KPMG Tax Master Class (ENR) and has been involved in presentations to key mining companies in Denver and Cape Town.
Emmanuel has advised clients on tax legislation, transaction taxes, tax organisational structures and appropriate methods of restructuring and reporting transactions.
As Tax Partner, Emmanuel has been responsible for the provision of the requisite quality, technical and project management advice to clients in areas including the following:
•Tax due diligences relating to takeovers, mergers or public listing
•Reviewing and advising on Investment Agreements (IA)
•Reviewing and advising on Stability Agreements (SA)
•Reviewing and advising on proposed structuring of businesses in Ghana
•Regular tax assistance to foreign companies investing in Ghana.
He has experience in advising on entity set ups and the impact of the Petroleum Income Tax Law, Petroleum Agreements (PA) and the general fiscal regime as it pertains to the oil and gas industry.
