While studying at the University of Waterloo, Melissa started her first co-op term in January 2012. During her co-op term at KPMG, Melissa worked in the Financial Institutions (FIRE) audit group. She worked on various fund clients and Honda Canada Finance Inc. Melissa's favorite memories include the FIRE ping pong social and the surprise Timbit visits of the partner.
Outside of work, Melissa enjoys trying new restaurants, snowboarding in the winter and travelling the world. In the future, she hopes to complete a secondment in England and New York.

Her favorite part about her first co-op term was the amazing relationships developed with her clients and audit team. Timothy, a second year Mathematics/Chartered Accountancy student at the University of Waterloo, started his first co-op term at KPMG's Financial Institutions group in January 2012. He was involved in various client engagements and KPMG community programs like volunteering with Free the Children.
In his free time, Timothy enjoys playing competitive volleyball and ultimate frisbee. A few of his other hobbies include playing the violin, reading, and online gaming (mostly LoL). Timothy's favourite part of his work term was getting to network with all the other interns and associates during the firm's parties, socials, and client engagements.

Julia started her first co-op term with KPMG during her second year at Waterloo. She worked in the Audit practice in the Energy, Mining, and Industrial Markets group and had the opportunity to work on the audits of a variety of mining clients and developed a strong interest in the mining industry. Prior to her co-op term, she first became interested in KPMG through recruiting events such as Ace the Case and Fast Forward. After attending Fast Forward in the summer of 2011, Julia quickly realized that KPMG had the perfect culture to work in and launch her CA career and has never looked back.
On campus at Waterloo, Julia serves on the UW Accounting and Finance Student Association as VP External and the DECA-U Board of Directors and is also a Residence Life Don. In her spare time, she is enjoys playing acoustic guitar, photography, and has recently taken up barefoot running.

Jessica is currently in her 3rd year at the University of Waterloo. She started her co-op terms with the TMT audit group in January 2012. During her co-op term at KPMG, she has been involved with the co-op social committee and volunteering at the soup kitchen and tax clinic.
In her spare time, Jessica enjoys being outdoors, spending time with family and friends, doing yoga and trying out new recipes. Her favourite part of co-op was meeting all the great people at work and going to various social events. Jessica also enjoys exploring the city with her friends during her co-op term.

Shubham Datta joined the KPMG team as a co-op student in 2010 with the Financial Institutions & Real Estate Audit practice, where he specializes in working with clients in the insurance industry. Shubham is currently completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Waterloo's Math/CA program and expects to graduate in 2012. Shubham has worked with a variety of life, property & casualty insurance companies, funds, and hotel management clients since joining the firm.
Shubham has been actively involved in recruiting since joining KPMG as a co-op student where he served as the lead campus ambassador for the University of Waterloo and has continued to be an active member of the University of Waterloo campus recruiting team. Shubham has also had the opportunity to spearhead the Co-op Social Committee, leading a group of co-op students to organize several social, training, and community leadership, events for co-op students at KPMG.
In his most recent co-op term, Shubham has had the opportunity to participate on the KPMG Cricket and Softball teams and had a blast competing against other Big 4 firms. He also spent a 6 week rotation in KPMG's Proposals and National Marketing group working on client proposals and developing new ways to bring KPMG's services to market. Through this opportunity he had the chance to meet Dragon, Jim Treliving and former Dragon Brett Wilson from Dragon's Den!
Shubham is actively involved on campus and has served as the President of the Accounting and Finance Student Association (AFSA), as well as co-founded the hEDGE Finance Conference, among other extra-curricular activities. He recently represented all undergraduate students on the SAF Director Nominating Committee. Outside of work and school, Shubham is a tech geek who enjoys scouring the web and learning about the latest gadgets, tech startups and M&As in the technology sector. He also enjoys playing softball, learning about different investing strategies, and watching sports! Remember to ask Shubham about his encounter with some celebrities from a hit TV show, while working at the KPMG Toronto office!

Quinntin joined the KPMG team as a co-op student in 2011 and has completed two co-op terms since with the Financial Institutions and Real Estate practice. Within the practice, he has received exposure to various clients with greater emphasis on Real Estate. He is currently studying at the University of Waterloo in the Mathematics & Chartered Accountancy program.
Quinntin has been an active ambassador in attending campus recruitments both on and off campus while leading an ambassador run program at the University of Waterloo campus. He also helped organize the co-op Community Leader day during his co-op term. While at university, he is actively involved on campus at the University of Waterloo with the Accounting & Finance Student Association (AFSA). Aside from work and campus involvement, he enjoys exercising (running and weight-lifting), playing volleyball, and cooking.

After completing her 2A term at the University of Waterloo, Christabelle started working at KPMG on her first co-op term as a part of the Financial Institutions audit group. From January to February 2012, she was in FI audit. She then spent March and April in a rotation to the International Executive Services group for the tax busy season. She is currently on the recruiting team on the University of Waterloo campus.
Christabelle likes to travel and hopes to do a lot of travelling in the future including trips to Australia, Europe, and Asia. Christabelle's favourite part of the co-op term was the IES tax social at SPiN Toronto where she got to play in a ping-pong tournament with partners, managers, and other co-ops.

Jason started at KPMG in January of 2011 during his first co-op term at the University of Waterloo. As part of the Financial Institutions group he has done audits on various banks and brokers. During his co-op terms, Jason has also completed a rotation in IES and done audits for clients in the Enterprise group.
In his time off Jason likes to spend time hanging out with his friends, playing his guitar and staying active outside. Jason's memories from his most recent co-op term were all the audit team coffee breaks, the social events and the Christmas secret Santa.

After finishing her first term of second year in the University of Waterloo's Accounting & Financial Management program, Sneha started her first co-op term at KPMG in January 2012 in the Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) group. During her co-op term in the TMT group, she was able to experience the audit of Rogers Communications Inc. and see how several audit teams work together on one client.
When not at work, Sneha enjoys watching movies with friends, finding new music artists (especially on Youtube), watching Suits and cooking. Some of Sneha's favorite parts of her co-op term were getting involved with Free the Children, meeting several people in the firm through numerous audit engagements and getting involved in campus recruitment initiatives.

Shaila has finished two 4-month work terms with KPMG in the Financial Institutions practice, and is looking forward to starting her 8-month term in January, after completing her third year at the University of Waterloo. She has been involved with campus recruiting since her first work term, and is excited to continue representing KPMG and the University of Waterloo at future events.

Terrance Kwok joined KPMG as a co-op student in the Consumer Markets Audit practice back in January 2009. CM Audit has given Terrance the unique experience of working with a wide variety of client businesses in different industries such as food, travel, and manufacturing.
Terrance has had many memorable experiences during his time at KPMG. In his second term, he started the co-op social committee with fellow UW students. Through this experience, he had the chance to help organize volunteer days and after work socials for all the students going through the co-op program at KPMG.
During his most recent term with KPMG, Terrance joined the Consumer Markets recreational softball team called the Tickmark Legends. Through this experience, he got to bond with other staff and managers while out on the field.
When Terrance isn't working, he enjoys honing his skills in filmmaking, catching the latest movie in theatres and biking.

After completing his 2A term at the University of Waterloo, Daniel joined KPMG for his first 4 month co-op term, starting in the Financial Institutions audit group. Daniel worked from January – April 2012 and he worked on small private equity clients and large financial institutions such as Deutsche Bank. Daniel was also part of the co-op social committee and had a great co-op experience with fellow co-ops and co-workers. He is currently on the campus recruiting team with the University of Waterloo.
On his spare time Daniel competes in powerlifting. He recently competed at the Canadian Powerlifting Federation Nationals and set seven Canadian national records and 1 world record with the World Powerlifting Congress. He hopes to compete in the world championships on November 2012. He is also a veteran breakdancer with the university club and he enjoys playing all sports. Daniel's favourite part of co-op was the Deutsche Bank team social at the South of Temperance, which coincided with his birthday.

Sharon re-joined KPMG in January 2012 for her final 8-month co-op term in the Enterprise Audit practice in Toronto. She gained exposure to a wide variety of clients ranging from NPOs, real estate, retail, manufacturing, and even educational institutions, which has allowed her to see how diverse businesses can be. Her favourite engagement this term was an animal shelter where dogs wandered around every day – even in the audit room!
Outside of work, you can find Sharon hanging out with family and friends, going to the gym, reading, or shopping. Come September 2012, Sharon will be completing her final term of undergraduate studies at the University of Waterloo.

While studying at the University of Waterloo, Stefanie joined KPMG as a co-op student starting January 2011 in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) practice. During her work term, she has gained fruitful experiences in corporate income tax filings, as well as tax provisions. In addition, she had an opportunity to work with the International Executive Services (IES) Group, where she prepared both Canadian and US personal income tax returns for expatriates during the busy season. Outside of work, Stefanie enjoys going to the movies during the weekends, and travelling with her family during the summer months, with scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef being the most memorable one.
Stefanie's favourite memories from her co-op experience were the various TMT socials, which included attending an exciting Raptors basketball game, playing an entire 18-hole golf course at the Richmond Hill Golf Course, and betting on a winning horse at the Woodbine Racetrack.

He worked in the Financial Institutions and Real Estate group during its busy season and worked on numerous funds, insurance and pension clients. He really enjoyed his co-op term and met some amazing people within KPMG.
Outside of work, Stefan enjoys spending time with family and friends. He also enjoys playing basketball, tennis, and golf. Even during busy season, he managed to play basketball almost every Friday to keep himself active and healthy. Stefan's favourite part about his co-op term was participating in firm events and meeting other co-ops and associates.

Arwa started working with KPMG LLP at the beginning of January 2012 in the US Tax Group at the Hamilton office. She worked on both corporate as well as personal tax returns for cross-border as well as Canadian clients. Outside of work hours, Arwa enjoy volunteering for Plan Canada and spending quality time with my family and friends.
What she loved most about her work term at KPMG were her supportive and fun colleagues. Even amidst the crazy busy season, they never had a dull moment!

Armaitish is in her final term in the Accounting and Financial Management program at the University of Waterloo. She has spent all four of her co-op work terms with KPMG's Financial Institutions (FI) audit practice and is looking forward to returning full-time in September of 2013. During her work terms, she was given the opportunity to experience year-end, pension, and quarter review audits. Recently on her 8-month co-op term, Armaitish took on more senior roles to further build upon her previous experiences auditing major financial institutions.
On her time off, Armaitish enjoys travelling, shopping and going out with friends. Armaitish's favorite memories from her co-op work terms were getting to know the co-ops in FI and other groups, as well as FI's Wine Tour day in Niagara.

During her time at KPMG, Bavi has enjoyed meeting all of the other co-ops and associates, working with diverse teams on different audit engagements, and volunteering with Free the Children. She looks forward to her return in January 2013 for another co-op term filled with new experiences.
Outside of work, Bavi can be found on track fields, as she enjoys running. She has participated in the Relay for Life run coordinated by the Canadian Cancer Society for many years. Bavi also enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, and loves to travel around the world. Some of the places she has visited include: Singapore, Malaysia, India, England, France, Germany, Dominican Republic, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, and Denmark.

Alex is a fourth year student at the University of Waterloo. Alex first started with KPMG in January 2011 as a co-op student in the Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) assurance practice. Currently on his final 8-month co-op work term, Alex has had the opportunity to work on various different audit clients both within and outside of his industry group during his time with KPMG. Some of his clients have included large public software companies, a gaming corporation, and a multinational telecommunications corporation. Alex is looking forward to returning to KPMG full-time upon his graduation.
Outside of work, Alex is an avid fan of basketball and the Toronto Raptors. He enjoys playing basketball, swimming, and travelling with friends. Alex's favorite memory from his co-op terms with KPMG include attending the Toronto Blue Jays' 2011 and 2012 home openers, as well as attending various social events with the rest of the TMT group.

What Wayne enjoyed about his winter term at KPMG was getting to meet and work with lots of great people. Whether it was at clients with audit teams or in the office with tax preparers, he found that the people are very supportive and a pleasure to work with.

Jack is currently finishing his undergraduate degree at the University of Waterloo in Accounting and Financial Management. He joined the KPMG Waterloo office in May 2012 for his last co-op in the Tax Services group. Throughout the summer, Jack assisted the group in preparing T2 Corporate Income Tax Returns, client research requests, tax planning calculations and memorandums, and other ad hoc projects. During his summer co-op at KPMG, he was involved with the Ultimate Frisbee Team and various community involvement initiatives.
When not at work, Jack enjoys playing basketball, tennis, squash and golf, and volunteering with the Special Olympics of Ontario.

One of her favourite memories was going ice fishing and 4 wheeling with the other co-ops and her manager. Outside of work, Lin loves to climb and travel. It is her dream to be able to go and work in KPMG Australia someday.

Foreign taxation was completely new for her, and she really enjoyed learning about both personal and corporate taxation in the US.

Scott started with KPMG as a high school co-op in 2008. He then worked as a summer intern and has most recently finished his second university co-op work term as a staff accountant in audit. He really enjoyed learning from the large variety of jobs he got to work on; including audit, tax and enterprise engagements. Outside of work he enjoys playing guitar, soccer, football, and socializing with friends and colleagues.

She enjoyed her term and found it full of learning experiences as she worked on audit engagements covering a variety of industries, including manufacturing, insurance, and municipalities. In her spare time, Deanna enjoys facilitating student leadership workshops on Global Intelligence on campus, as well as learning to play acoustic guitar.

She had the opportunity to work on several family and partner trust returns, and personal tax returns. Her favourite memory at KPMG was sharing homemade dumplings and other dim sum for the office during Chinese New Year. In her spare time, Joyce enjoys travelling, hanging out with friends, and staying active.

Talal started his January 2012 co-op term in the Tax group at KPMG's North Bay office. He learned a lot as he was exposed to Enterprise work along with Personal and Corporate tax returns. He enjoyed meeting with T1 clients and loved the fast-paced work environment.
Outside of work, Talal enjoys singing, cooking, playing basketball and hanging out with friends. He also loves to volunteer for different events.
What Talal enjoyed about his first term with KPMG was getting to know all of his co-workers. Everyone at the office was really supportive and assisted him with his work. His greatest memory was travelling with his co-workers to Toronto for their SOA classes. He also enjoyed driving a Ski-doo for the first time while volunteering at one of the local ski clubs.
