Vancouver

Jason Braich
jsb17@sfu.ca

Jason started with KPMG in the middle of May as a co-op student in the Enterprise practice at the Vancouver office. He had a great time working there with some amazing people on very interesting projects. His second rotation was in the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) practice.  Outside of the office, Jason loves sports and travelling.

Jason’s favourite part of the summer was bonding with all of the other interns both at work over some carrots and dip and outside of work at all of the various events.

Melissa Felix
mgf5@sfu.ca

Melissa started with KPMG as a co-op student in the Indirect Tax group in January 2011. She began her second co-op term in May where she had the opportunity to work in KPMG’s Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) practice, in addition to a rotation in the Sustainability practice. Melissa enjoyed working with a diverse group of clients, and continually learning from her experienced co-workers. Outside of work, she enjoys playing sports, watching movies, and spending time with friends.

Melissa’s favourite part of the summer was getting to know all of the interns as well as meeting other great people within the firm. She also enjoyed “Friday treats”, and participating in social and volunteer events throughout the summer.

Rachael Lee
rachaell@sfu.ca

Rachael spent her co-op term in the Financial Institutions & Real Estate Services’ (FIRES) group, where she completed a rotation in the Tax and Audit services. She had the opportunity to work on a diverse set of clients while developing her skills. She thoroughly enjoyed working with and being mentored by her other colleagues in the FIRES group.

Outside of work, Rachael enjoys shopping, thinking about art and design, spending quality time with family and friends, singing, tossing a Frisbee, and learning to play golf.

Rachael’s highlights of her summer internship were hanging out with the other summer interns during spontaneous trainings and games, lunches at the tennis courts and in the lunchroom, and training for the Frisbee tournament.

Elliot Lobo
elliot.lobo@gmail.com

In the middle of May, Elliot was given the privilege to experience KPMG’s Enterprise and Audit practices. As a summer intern, he worked with public and private clients in a range of industries and gained a wealth of knowledge from a diverse client portfolio.

Outside of work, Elliot enjoys staying active and playing various sports such as basketball, volleyball, and tennis. Elliot is an avid snowboarder in the winter and also enjoys travelling.

Elliot’s favorite parts of the summer were meeting the other interns and spending time with them and other members of the firm at after-work socials. He also enjoyed planning the activities for the FAS as well as taking part in the many community initiatives at KPMG.

Stefano Luongo
scluongo@gmail.com

Since starting at KPMG Stefano has never had a dull moment. His first rotation was in tax where he was introduced to his first “busy season” of corporate tax returns. Stefano second rotation was in audit for the Industrial Markets sector which was just as enjoyable. One of the skills Stefano has learnt this summer is the amount of detail that it takes to organize parties. However, his favourite part of the summer was enjoying those parties with all of his new found friends.

Stefano truly enjoyed his summer experience and is excited for what the future at KPMG will bring him.

Keenan has traveled to Japan, New Zealand, Mexico, Egypt, Malta and Spain. Next on his list of places to visit is South America.
