Senior Talent Attraction Manager, National Campus Recruiting
Louisa started out her KPMG career as a summer intern in May 2003, and after obtaining her B.Comm through the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary in 2004, began her full-time career with the firm in the fall of that same year. Louisa went on to complete the CASB program, and passed the UFE in 2006.
While working in the Calgary office's Audit practice for 4 years, Louisa had the opportunity to work on both public and private clients, as well as due diligence, US GAAP, and SOX engagements. In 2008, after spending 3 great months on a temporary secondment with the Campus Recruiting team, Louisa decided to take on the full time role of Manager of Campus Recruiting for the Calgary office.
In June 2012, Louisa was promoted to Senior Talent Attraction Manager, and now manages the campus team nationally. When she's not busy meeting students on campus, Louisa enjoys taking long trips to other continents; learning new languages; volunteering at the Women in Need Society; and hiking, camping, and skiing in the Rockies.
Talent Attraction Manager, Montréal Campus Recruiting
After studying mechanical engineering at Montréal's School of Advanced Technology (ETS) and obtaining her Engineering Degree, Annik worked for an industrial engineering consulting firm as Project Manager for 4 years, optimizing work methods and production processes for various manufacturing companies.
In 2004, Annik decided to take on new challenges and signed a 2-month contract with the Campus Recruiting team at KPMG's Montréal office. In that position, she got to know KPMG employees and discovered a work environment and corporate culture that fit her values and aspirations.
In early 2005, Annik accepted a permanent position as Montréal Scheduling Coordinator within KPMG's Audit practice -a major career change. Her solid grounding in engineering allowed her to quickly propose and make changes to the process in place. Barely 7 months after taking up her duties, Annik was offered a Human Resources administration position, which she eagerly accepted; she took part in a variety of HR projects, particularly in the area of campus recruiting. In 2007, she began a new position entirely focused on that area. Currently in charge of campus recruiting for KPMG's Montréal office, Annik also promotes national projects as a member of the Canadian firm's Campus Recruiting team.
Staff Accountant, Audit
Ioanna joined the KPMG team during her summer internship in May 2010. She then completed her Bachelor's degree in Commerce at McGill University where she majored in Accounting. In October 2011, she joined KPMG's Audit Practice full time. During this time, she also studied in McGill's CA program, writing and passing the UFE in 2012.
Ioanna serves private and public companies operating primarily in the retail, energy and aviation sectors. Outside of the office, Ioanna organizes an annual charity brunch party benefiting the Montreal Children's Hospital foundation and is involved in other events benefiting this great cause.
Acting as a KPMG ambassador at McGill since her summer internship, Ioanna always enjoyed the recruiting process and is now a member of the official KPMG recruiting team for the first time. She hopes to provide the candidates with an enjoyable recruiting experience, as she experienced herself in 2010.
Talent Attraction Specialist, Regions- East Campus Recruiting
Brianne Martin-Evans joined KPMG and the Talent Attraction team in April 2013, overseeing campus recruitment for the firm's Regions East offices. Prior to joining KPMG, Brianne held a Bilingual Employment Specialist role, assisting Skilled Trades Newcomers to Canada with their personal and systematic barriers to employment. Brianne holds a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and Modern Languages (Spanish) from Laurentian University.
Outside of work, Brianne enjoys spending time developing her artsy-side - taking part in seminars for pottery, glass fusion, and checking out markets hunting down a good deal on antiques.
Talent Attraction Specialist, Regions West Campus Recruiting
Carla Smith joined the Talent Attraction Team in 2011, as the campus coordinator to support Calgary Regions West campus recruiting.
After graduating from St. FXU, Carla moved to Halifax and started to build her career as an HR professional. Beyond her undergraduate degree in Sociology and History, Carla completed an Advanced Diploma in HR Management in 2009. She then worked in a variety of different roles with the IWK Health Center where she interned and helped to support policy development, recruiting and communications at Dalhousie University.
When not at work, Carla enjoys skiing, hiking, swimming, sailing and traveling.
Talent Attraction Specialist
Kelsey has worked in the KPMG Calgary audit group for the past 3 years. After completing her BSc in Chemistry at Mount Allison University, Kelsey decided to pursue her CA designation. After obtaining the required accounting courses, she decided to move out west from Halifax, NS to join KPMG. Kelsey completed the CASB program and was a successful UFE candidate in 2012.
During her time with the firm, she has worked primarily with public oil and gas companies, but has also worked on private companies and had the opportunity to travel to the US for a job. Kelsey has been a CASB and UFE mentor, was a member of the CASB Student Advisory Counsel for the past 2 years and is a member of the unofficial KPMG Calgary co-ed basketball team. She has been involved in campus recruiting throughout her time at KPMG and is currently doing a 6 month secondment with Campus Recruiting.
Kelsey enjoys reading, playing sports and spending time with her family and friends in her spare time. She also enjoys travelling and has had the opportunity to explore North America, Europe and South East Asia.
Talent Attraction Senior Manager, GTA Campus Recruiting
Laird joined KPMG in 2005 after obtaining his Honours Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University. Laird began his career with KPMG in the Waterloo Audit practice working on clients in various industry groups including Consumer Markets and Energy and KPMG Enterprise. Laird obtained his Chartered Accountancy (CA) designation in 2008.
In the spring of 2008, Laird participated in a four month secondment to Johannesburg as part of a short term exchange program with KPMG South Africa in the Energy and Natural Resources group. In the fall of 2008 Laird embarked on a 36 month secondment to KPMG Amsterdam as part of the Global Opportunities program where he travelled extensively across Europe and Asia on client engagements obtaining IFRS experience on Asset Management clients.
While working with KPMG Canada, Laird has been heavily involved in recruiting, most recently holding the role of GTA Campus Recruiting Senior Manager. Laird is currently transitioning back to KPMG Audit in the Financial Services (FIRE) sector with a focus on Asset Management where he has held a client portfolio for the duration of his secondment in recruiting. In his personal time Laird enjoys skiing, swimming and travelling.
Talent Attraction Coordinator, GTA Campus Recruiting
Rory MacPherson joined KPMG and the Talent Attraction Team (Campus) in March of 2012. Prior to joining KPMG, Rory worked for TD Bank Financial Group (in both Vancouver, BC and Toronto, ON) and Munich Re where he was involved with campus recruitment and training and development initiatives.
Rory completed his Bachelors of Arts degree from the University of New Brunswick in 2008 and is a Certified Human Resources Profession (CHRP) candidate.
Outside of work Rory enjoys art, cycling, travelling, and spending time with friends.
Talent Attraction Manager, GTA Campus Recruiting
Rigel joined KPMG in 2007 as a summer intern and started full time in September 2008 with the Industrial Markets Audit Practice in North York. Rigel moved to the Toronto office in December 2009 with the newly formed Energy, Mining and Industrials practice shortly after passing the UFE and obtaining his CA designation. Rigel graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Commerce.
Rigel was an active participant as a campus ambassador and continued to be involved when he started full time in various social, recruiting and volunteering activities. In 2010, Rigel was also a study buddy for the UFE program. Rigel was active in supporting KPMG's community initiatives as a key member on the Free the Children steering committee who works to raise internal firm awareness and organize events in support of the organization. In the summer of 2011, Rigel attended the inaugural KPMG trip to the Masai Mara region of Kenya with Free the Children.
As part of the Global Opportunities program, Rigel participated in a 2 year secondment to Melbourne, Australia when he had the chance to work on a number of global clients within the Energy and Natural Resources practice. He returned back to KPMG Toronto in June 2013, where he took on the position of Talent Attraction Manager for GTA Campus Recruiting.
Outside of work, Rigel enjoys travelling, hiking, reading, and exploring new restaurants and cafes.
Talent Attraction Manager, GVA Campus Recruiting
Kate originally joined the Burnaby Administration group in 2006 while completing her CA pre-requisite courses. She then transferred to the KPMG Enterprise practice in September 2008 as a full time staff accountant. Kate worked with a variety of private and public clients including those in the real estate, healthcare, transportation, technology and not-for-profit organizations. Kate then transitioned to the Vancouver Financial Institutions and Real Estate group in 2010 and subsequently wrote and passed the UFE . Kate credits the support and mentorship she received from both offices for her ability to pursue her interest in the real estate practice and for her academic achievements.
Kate earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Victoria in 2006 and a Masters in Professional Accounting (MPAcc) from the University of Saskatchewan in 2010. Kate was an active participant in the GVA campus recruiting program during her time in Burnaby and Vancouver. Kate has also been involved in a number of volunteer campaigns and initiatives including the United Way, the Canadian Cancer foundation, and Movember.
In September 2011, Kate was able to take part in the Global Opportunities program and travelled to Melbourne, Australia for an 18-month secondment. Kate had the opportunity to work on a number of global public companies in the Energy and Real Estate sectors and earned valuable international business experience. Kate returned from Australia in the summer of 2013 where she then took on the role of the Talent Attraction Manager for GVA Campus Recruiting.
Kate enjoys being active. Most recently, she participated in the 2013 Nissan Corporate Triathlon in Melbourne with her KPMG Team. Kate also enjoys travelling and has visited over 20 countries. During her secondment to Melbourne, Kate was able to take time off to travel throughout Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia. She also managed to fit in two months of travel throughout South America on her return to Canada. Kate enjoys the adventurous side of travel and over the past two years has managed to ski in Japan, dive in the Great Barrier Reef, trek to Machu Picchu in Peru, and ride the Death Road in Bolivia.
Talent Attraction Coordinator, GVA Campus Recruiting
Jenna is currently the Talent Attraction Coordinator for GVA Campus Recruiting. She started with the firm in July, 2012 to pursue her passion in the Human Resources profession.
In her first year at the firm, Jenna has had the ability to plan and execute a number of recruiting events. Jenna's most memorable experience was attending the Executive Look Program in Toronto this past July. She has also enjoyed the ability to get to know a number of the KPMG Staff, Seniors, Managers and Partners through recruiting events, as well as at KPMG social events.
In her spare time, Jenna loves to participate in anything that is related to sports. She loves to attend sporting events and she loves to be active. Jenna currently plays and coaches field hockey. She also loves being part of her community. She is currently a mentor for an SFU Business student and she also enjoys volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House.
