Scott joined KPMG in the summer of 2011 where he trained with KPMG’s Audit practice as well as with the Transactions & Restructuring department within the Advisory practice. Scott is currently studying at McGill University in their CA program and has recently completed his Bachelor of Commerce. Outside of work, Scott is a passionate sports fan and loves to both play and watch hockey and soccer. He also really loves to travel having travelled to many regions in Europe as well as spending time with his friends and family.

In 2011, Michel-Olivier worked with KPMG’s Energy and Natural Resources practice. Michel-Olivier is a high level alpine skier who competed at an international level for a major part of his life before working at KPMG. His passion for alpine skiing brought him around the world in order to practice his sport. When not on the slopes shredding turns, Michel-Olivier enjoys playing various sports such as tennis, water skiing and road biking.

Frédérique was selected to take KPMG’s Fast Forward accelerated leadership training program in Hollywood in the summer of 2011, and made the jump into the world of accounting the following summer. During her stay in California, she had the opportunity to meet partners who are passionate about their work, as well as ambitious future work colleagues, while discovering KPMG’s corporate culture. What attracts her most to KPMG is the people and their ability to connect with one another. Frédérique is a dynamic, young woman who spends most of her free time playing her favourite sports, which include tennis and golf. She also has a love of travelling, and has been to Vietnam, Indonesia and Australia, where she studied at the University of Sydney during the winter of 2012.

Sabrina joined KPMG as a 2011 summer intern. During her internship, Sabrina had the opportunity to work in the Tax practice (specializing in US Tax). She recently graduated from the John Molson School of Business of Concordia University with a Bachelor's Degree of Commerce. Sabrina returned to KPMG as a full-time employee in the Audit practice in January 2012 and is currently pursuing a Graduate Diploma in Public Accountancy at McGill University. Outside of work, Sabrina enjoys cooking, travelling, and spending time with family and friends.

This summer Frances worked as a summer intern in the Audit group for public companies. Frances is currently studying at McGill University, where she played on the Varsity Women’s` Basketball team for 3 years. On her last year she was able to represent McGill at the CIS National Championships in Calgary. Next year, as part of the Panama Field Studies Minor at McGill, Frances will be living in Panama City for four months where she will be studying environmental issues and partaking in an internship with a local NGO. Frances enjoys playing various sports, mostly basketball and volleyball, and enjoys travelling to different areas of the world.

Courtney joined KPMG in the summer of 2011, where she began her accounting career as an auditor helping out in the MR&D/ICE group. She workon the audits of various companies in the Montréal area. Courtney enjoys spending time with family and friends in the townships where she grew up. Hiking, gardening and cross-country skiing are among the activities she enjoys taking part in.

Anthony currently studies at McGill University and was recruited by KPMG as an intern for the summer of 2011. Throughout his internship, Anthony worked within KPMG’s Corporate Tax practice, which was an exciting experience that helped fine-tune his classroom skills. The internship was filled with many interesting events and activities that helped build the team spirit. When not working or studying, he enjoys rock climbing, hiking and canoeing.

This summer, Fiona trained with KPMG’s Audit team. More specifically, she worked in the Forensics group within the Risks, Performance, Technology & Conformity practice. Fiona had just returned from a student exchange in France before beginning her internship with KPMG. She spent four months on the Côte d’Azur, travelling all around Europe on her weekends. The countries she visited included Switzerland, Germany, England, Italy and Spain. During her summer, Fiona also trained and partook in the Spartan Race, held yearly in Mont-Tremblant. It was both physically and mentally challenging. She enjoys playing various sports such as soccer and tennis, and she is also an avid runner.

When David is not working or studying for his Bachelor of Commerce, he enjoys various sports and activities such as soccer, rugby and playing the drums. As a summer intern in 2011, Amanda worked in KPMG’S Audit practice. Her summer internship gave her the opportunity to begin her career in her chosen field and build a sound personal and professional network. In her spare time, Amanda plays recreational soccer and hockey, reads and enjoys spending time with her friends and family. Her most enjoyable experiences during the internship were meeting and spending time with her fellow interns as well as getting to know the wonderful KPMG employees.

Simon is studying at McGill University, doing a major in accounting and a minor in finance. He first began working for an accounting firm when he joined KPMG in the summer of 2011. He was especially impressed by the passion for the firm shown by partners and staff, the warm work atmosphere and the team spirit that he saw. Simon is a well-balanced young man who loves sports. He has been playing hockey, lacrosse and baseball since he was very young. He loves to learn and discover and adores experiencing new cultures. He has travelled to Central America, Europe, Oceania and Asia. He saw this same spirit of openness at KPMG. Indeed, this is a firm that provides worldwide employment opportunities.

Marie-Michèle joined the KPMG team as a summer intern in 2012 as part of the Audit department, followed by a six week experience within the Risk Management department. Marie-Michèle particularly enjoyed applying theoretical accounting knowledge to real life contexts and practices.


Marie-Michèle is currently preparing for her exchange in Sweden after which she will complete both her major in Accounting and her minor in Translation.  In her spare time, Marie-Michèle enjoys long distance running and yoga, as well as reading and developing different art skills such as pastel painting, charcoal and watercolors. Marie-Michèle is currently training for a semi-marathon.

This summer, Andrea worked as an intern in KPMG’s Audit practice, which allowed her to work on numerous mandates and experience a variety of industries. Besides her love of accounting, Andrea also has a passion for volunteering, spending her free time helping out at a variety of charitable organizations. After her internship, she looks forward to relaxing and taking some weekend trips out of the city. Her favorite moments from her time at KPMG were all the opportunities to bond with her fellow interns, including bowling and going to dinner after work.

Jared started as a summer intern in May 2012 and worked with KPMG’s Enterprise Audit Group offering him exposure to a variety of clients. In true KPMG and team spirit, Jared has joined the athletic committee. Outside of work Jared enjoys playing the drums as well as sports, especially basketball. Jared also enjoys travelling the world and had recently traveled through Europe and hopes to travel more in the future.

As a summer intern in 2011, Jessica worked in KPMG’s Audit practice. Jessica’s internship gave her the opportunity to expand her networks, in addition to commence and build her professional career. When she is not studying at McGill University, she practices with her dance company, participates in various fundraisers, and works part-time at Sports Experts. Outside of work, Jessica also loves to travel, ski, and get involved in the McGill community. Jessica’s summer stage enabled her to meet and work with a fantastic group of interns, as well as the great KPMG team. Jessica’s experience at the firm was both interesting and fun, and she looks forward to starting full-time at KPMG.

David joined the KPMG team as a summer intern in 2012, after completing his second year of studies at McGill. Outside of the office, he enjoys playing competitive flag football, attending outdoor concerts, and traveling. David also tries to improve his golf game every summer. A big supporter of community involvement, David combines his passion for sports and volunteering by coaching the Special Olympics softball team. He truly enjoys the networking side of business, and is always eager to meet new people at business cocktails.

Joël currently studies at McGill University, starting his third year with double major in Accounting and Finance. He worked as a summer intern with KPMG’s Audit practice as well as with the Transactions and Restructuring department within the Advisory practice. For him the best thing about KPMG was the amazing team spirit in the office and the wonderful colleagues he got to meet over the summer. Outside of work, Joël is actively involved in extracurricular activities at McGill participating in various activities namely case competitions and external competitions including the Jeux du Commerce and the Human Resources Symposium. He is also part of the Management Accounting Society of McGill as the VP Recruitment for this coming year. Outside of school and work, Joël is an enthusiast skier and golfer enjoying hitting the slopes or the green whenever possible.

Maryland has had a great summer working as an intern in KPMG’s Audit practice. She found it a great place to start off her professional career. During her time at KPMG, she enjoyed the challenge of having a wide array of different clients and meeting a lot of interesting people. When she is not working or studying at McGill University, Maryland enjoys dancing salsa, playing sports and trying new restaurants. Maryland’s favourite memories are from the activities she participated in with her fellow interns. She had the most fun competing in a scavenger hunt around downtown with her team and helping out with the summer yearbook. She enjoyed being part of the team and learned a lot from her summer experience.

Kate began her summer internship with KPMG in the Consumer Markets Audit group. She enjoyed learning new skills and socializing with her coworkers outside the office at events such as Consumer Markets baseball and wine tasting day. Outside of the office Kate enjoys playing sports, in particular soccer and skiing, watching movies, and exploring Toronto.  Kate recently returned from a 5 month exchange in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. While in Europe, Kate’s favourite places she travelled to were Berlin, Budapest, Ios, and Istanbul.

After her third year studying accounting and economics at McGill University, Krista began as a summer associate at the GTA office. In May 2012 she started with the Advisory practice in the Knowledge Management group where she had the opportunity to conduct her own research project and interview KPMG employees from all over Canada. Her second rotation was in the Energy, Mining and Industrials Audit group where she hopes to make good use of her Spanish.


Krista is originally from Maine, U.S.A so discovering the city of Toronto with the help of other KPMG interns was a highlight of her summer. Playing Ultimate Frisbee and co-chairing the Athletic Committee made the summer particularly memorable. She is looking forward to spending more time with the great people she met.

After spending a semester studying abroad in Ireland, Shelley started her summer internship with KPMG in May 2012 as part of the Consumer Markets audit division and finished the summer with a second rotation in Campus Recruiting. She enjoyed gaining experience in both the audit and non-audit sides of the firm.


Outside of work, Shelley enjoys swimming, skating, travelling and spending time with friends. Her favorite part of the summer has been getting to know all the other interns and participating in activities such as Ultimate Frisbee and lawn bowling.

Alex spent the summer after her third year with KPMG as an intern in the rotation program doing a non-audit rotation in May 2012 in Tax-Financial Services and a second rotation later that summer in Audit-Consumer Markets.  During her time with KPMG, Alex participated in the intern Ultimate Frisbee team against other GTA Big Four interns and also participated in KPMG Toronto’s first Lawn Bowling Team to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  Alex was also on the KPMG intern social committee.


Having spent the last 3 years in Montreal, Alex was very excited to explore Toronto and get involved with KPMG outside the office.  The best part about her summer internship at KPMG was getting to meet amazing people and making great friendships with the other interns.  Alex also enjoyed the opportunity to not only try out audit for the first time, but also get a taste of what working in tax is like.

Jennifer started with KPMG in May 2012 as a summer intern with the Audit Team. More specifically, she worked on rotation in the Technology Media and Telecommunications practice and the Community Leader group. Prior to starting her internship at KPMG, Jennifer spent five months studying on exchange in Singapore and traveling South East Asia.


During her summer, Jennifer was a VP in the intern community leader group and volunteered with Free the Children. She also enjoyed escaping the city on weekends and spending time in Muskoka. Some of her hobbies include traveling, reading, hot yoga, and spending time with friends and family. Her most enjoyable experience during the internship was getting to know her fellow interns and the senior level associates at the firm, while experiencing the KPMG culture firsthand.

After finishing her third year at McGill University, Natalie started her summer internship with KPMG in May 2012.  Her first rotation was in Knowledge Management followed by a rotation in Energy, Mining and Industrials.  
 In her spare time Natalie is actively involved in fundraising with Salt for Survival, a charitable club at McGill, which aims to raise awareness about iodine deficiency in developing countries.  She is also interested in volunteering with the Alzheimer’s Society in order to actively promote this cause. In addition to volunteer opportunities Natalie also enjoys playing tennis and travelling with friends and family.

Blaire started with KPMG Vancouver in May as a summer intern. She spent the first half of her internship in an Audit rotation in the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications group, followed by a Tax rotation for the remainder of the summer. She really enjoyed meeting new people, as well as working on a diverse group of clients. Outside of work, Blaire loves going to the beach, playing sports, and spending time with friends and family.

Her favourite part of her summer was getting to know the other interns and taking part in the social events. She will definitely miss her new friends while she is away in Montreal during the school year.
