Derek joined KPMG in September 1994 after graduating from the Honours Economics program at Wilfrid Laurier University and later obtained his CA designation in 1997. Derek originally joined the North Toronto office and serviced clients across many industries, including technology, manufacturing and resources. He has now specialized in the mining industry and works with many developing, internationally diverse companies.
Derek has held many different roles during his career at KPMG – HR Partner, Canadian Securities Partner, Laurier Campus Recruiting Partner, to name a few. Derek also had the opportunity to participate in an international secondment while at the Partner level. He spent 2 years with KPMG Australia living in Melbourne as a member of KPMG Australia’s department of professional practice and supported some of KPMG Australia’s largest clients.
Derek sits on the Advisory Board of the Toronto chapter of Cystic Fibrosis Canada providing financial advice and support in their many fundraising events. Outside of work Derek is a struggling mid-handicapper, but undeterred golfer. He also enjoys skiing and beer league hockey.
Chris Cornell

Chris Cornell is a Senior Manager in KPMG Canada’s Financial Institutions practice. Chris is the Business Manager for this practice.
Chris joined KPMG’s GTA office after graduating from Wilfrid Laurier University where he obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration. He has worked at KPMG since 2002 including a secondment to the KPMG London Office in the UK in 2005 / 2006. Chris works on all types of Financial Services Clients with a particular focus on Banking, Insurance and Investment Dealers.
Chris is active in the community and organizing a KPMG team for the JDRF Ride for Diabetes Research and is involved in fundraising for the MS Society.
Outside of work, Chris enjoys playing ice hockey during the winter. In the summer, he enjoys golf and other outdoor activities.
Erin Sproule
Senior Manager, Tax, Global Transfer Pricing Services
Erin joined KPMG in 2005 after obtaining his Master of Arts (Economics) from Vancouver’s Simon Fraser University. Erin began his career with KPMG in Toronto’s transfer pricing practice and has never looked back. He assists clients in all industry sectors with transfer pricing compliance, audit defence and advance planning.
Erin loves transfer pricing because it presents a unique opportunity to work with C-level executives to gain a deep understanding of the core value-drivers of multinational enterprises. While working with KPMG Canada, Erin has also been a regular contributor at external conferences as well as internal technical meetings. In his personal time Erin enjoys skiing, waterskiing, hockey and Ultimate.
Ally Tharani

Ally Tharani is an Audit Senior Manager in KPMG Canada’s Enterprise practice. Since joining KPMG in 2000, he has developed extensive experience on many medium and large sized Private Companies throughout various industries including manufacturing, retail, real estate and breweries.
During his career, Ally has held various positions at KPMG including Enterprise Lead Recruiting Manager, Enterprise Social Committee Chair, Member of the Senior Manager Council and National Coordinator for the World Partnership Walk. He has also been involved as a member of the annual QPR review and a facilitator for internal audit courses.
Ally received his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Wilfred Laurier University and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario (“ICAO”). In his spare time, Ally is an avid traveler and has made trips to various parts of Europe, Asia and Africa. He also enjoys keeping active through his interests in volleyball, basketball and softball.
Kaylynn Marsden

Kaylynn joined KPMG in 2005 as a co-op student from Wilfrid Laurier University and completed three co-op terms with the Energy, Mining and Industrial (EMI) Audit practice, out of KPMG's North York Office. After obtaining her Honours Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University, Kaylynn began working for KPMG full time in January 2008. Kaylynn wrote and passed all her Chartered Accountancy (CA) exams in 2008 and obtained her CA designation in 2009.
Kaylynn continued working in the EMI group out of KPMG's North York office for two years and then continued her career with the Consumer Markets (CM) Audit practice, once EMI joined CM in the downtown Toronto office. She has gained valuable experience working with clients in the automotive, food and beverage and specialty chemicals industries.
In July 2011, Kaylynn transferred internally to KPMG's Risk & Compliance Advisory Services practice to pursue her interest in consulting. Prior to her transfer, Kaylynn had the opportunity to work on some advisory engagements, which allowed her to build relationships with other KPMG people and confirm that this was the right career move for her.
While working with KPMG, Kaylynn has been involved with recruiting and was a key member CM's recruiting team. Kaylynn has also participated in several KPMG sponsored community events including the CN Tower Climb for United Way, the Heart & Stroke Big Bike, the Sporting Life 10k run for kids with cancer, and sandwich runs for the homeless. In her personal time Kaylynn enjoys dancing, shopping, yoga, golf and travelling.
Daniel Millett

Dan is an Audit Manager in our Financial Institutions and Real Estate group. He joined KPMG in 2006. Since joining KPMG, he has worked on various clients with his main client being an international engineering and construction firm public in the UK. Reporting for this client has been in IFRS, US GAAP, and Canadian GAAP. He has also worked on mutual funds, securitization arms of major banks, private equity firms, asset managers, REITs and other private real estate clients. Dan has also had the opportunity work on some special engagements included compilations, due diligence and specified procedure jobs.
Dan has been actively involved in various activities since joining KPMG, including the UFE Committee, being actively involved in recruiting, and acting as a Performance Counselor.
His most memorable moment since joining KPMG was passing the UFE and the excitement and firm celebration that followed.
Outside of work, Dan enjoys playing sports including tennis, golf, hockey, and baseball.
Kevin Ryan

Kevin joined KPMG in 2006 after obtaining his Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University. Kevin started with and still works in the Financial Institutions (FI) Audit practice, where he has worked on clients in various industries including Banking, Broker/Dealers, Funds and Insurance. Kevin obtained his Chartered Accountancy (CA) designation in 2009.
Kevin is currently the UFE Manager for the FI Audit practice and is responsible for mentoring writers through the CA process. Kevin has been actively involved in campus recruiting for the past four years and has been engaged as a performance counselor for several staff accountants. In his personal time Kevin enjoys skiing, golf and travelling.
Mary Jo “MJ” Fedy

Mary Jo “MJ” joined Thorne Riddell (later becoming KPMG) in September 1988 after completing the MAcc program at the University of Waterloo. Mary Jo started with KPMG as an auditing student in the KPMG Enterprise practice, where she remains today as the Partner-in-Charge of the Waterloo office’s KPMG Enterprise group.
While at KPMG, Mary Jo has spent time as a facilitator for various audit training programs and as a part-time instructor at Wilfrid Laurier University’s School of Business and Economics. Mary Jo has held numerous board of director positions in various organizations and enjoys giving back to the community in this capacity.
Mary Jo's current focus is privately held businesses in the Consumer Markets sector. She has travelled a great deal throughout Canada, the US, and Europe. Mary Jo enjoys figure skating, cycling, and golf.
Graham Rumble

Graham joined KPMG in 2006 as a co-op student working within the Audit practice, and upon completion of his business degree at Wilfrid Laurier University in 2009, he started there full-time. Since joining the firm he has worked with clients across a wide spectrum of industries and those of various corporate structures. Graham has worked with clients across the manufacturing, information technology, and health care industries.
