Chuck re-joined KPMG in 1984 after completing his articling with another firm. Chuck had spent all his co-op work terms with KPMG in Pembroke. Chuck was elected to Partnership in 1991.
Throughout his career, Chuck has been involved in advising clients on tax-effective structures, many relating to mergers and acquisitions. He has served multi-national clients in the Mining, ICE, Consumer Markets and Real Estate industries. He also helped establish the SRED practice and the e-Tax Solutions team. He has lectured throughout Europe and North America on e-Commerce tax issues and has been published nationally and globally.
Chuck entered Waterloo as a Descartes Scholar and left after two stints as a Village Don. Recently, Chuck and his family took two of their summer vacations to work in an orphanage in Africa. Chuck currently chairs an international outreach group and serves on the board of the KPMG Foundation. In his personal time, Chuck enjoys skiing, travelling and spending time at the cottage he built.
Larry Toste

Larry is a Partner in our Financial Institutions and Real Estate audit practice. He graduated from the University of Waterloo, with his Masters of Accounting, and has over 10 years’ experience in providing financial reporting services to real estate and construction companies under Canadian GAAP, US GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards. Larry enjoys golfing, macrame, and long walks on the beach. Larry is looking forward to the transition to IFRS, and is actively involved in helping his clients make the switch as painless as possible.
Albert Leung

Albert graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2002 and obtained his CA designation in 2004. He joined KPMG in 2003 and is currently part of the Financial Institutions Audit Practice. Albert provides audit services to a number of public company clients, primarily large Canadian and US financial institutions.
In addition to working with his clients, Albert has been involved in various human resource roles, including acting as a People Leader in his Audit Practice and has also actively participated in recruiting events at the University of Waterloo.
Over the past few years, Albert has also had the opportunity to work on clients in the Energy, Mining and Industrials Audit Practice, providing him exposure to a different industry. In his spare time, Albert enjoys basketball, golfing and traveling.
Lesley Luk

Lesley has over nine years of experience providing audit and accounting advisory services to public and private company clients primarily in the media and entertainment industries.
She has advised clients on issues relating to public company reporting, IFRS, U.S. GAAP, and Sarbanes-Oxley and 52-109 internal control reporting requirements. She has also been on a secondment to London England for three years and serviced media and communications companies.
Lesley has been a “People Leader” for the ICE audit practice for the past two years, and also facilitates a number of internal training sessions for the ICE department and the GTA. She graduated in 2002 from the University of Waterloo Masters of Accountancy program and holds a CA and CPA designation.
Sandra Chiu

Sandra joined KPMG in September 2005 directly after graduating from University of Waterloo. Her major clients include retail and manufacturing companies, municipalities, hospitals, energy sector and not-for-profit organizations.
Sandra participated in the global mobility program in The Netherlands for 1.5 years. During that period, Sandra was engaged in audit engagements for public international clients in the financial institution, retail, and leasing industries with multi-location operations in Europe and United States. She gained extensive knowledge in IFRS and US GAAP during her global assignment. Since Sandra was back from secondment, she had been heavily involved in recruiting events. She was dedicated to community involvement as well as she was the GTA KPMG leader of the World Partnership Walk in 2011.
As a music lover, Sandra plays various music instruments including piano, flute, and saxophone. She obtained The Associate of The Royal Conservatory diploma for Performers (ARCT) in 2003 and she had been involved in performing at various international and local communities’ music festivals, including Toronto International Film Festival. She is also an active participant in community service events such as raising funds at Easter Seals, volunteering at Salvation Army. In addition, recently, Sandra volunteered in an orphanage program in Tanzania for 3 weeks. Sandra loves to travel and enjoys outdoor activities.
Mike Gillespie

Mike Gillespie joined KPMG in January 1988 as a co-op student. Mike started with KPMG as Staff Accountant in the St. Catharines office, before moving to the Kitchener-Waterloo area after graduation.
While at KPMG, Mike has progressed in the Audit practice to his current position of Associate Partner, where he oversees Audit teams and is responsible for the quality of the work as well as building a strong relationship with clients and prospective clients. Along with his CA designation, Mike holds the US CPA and CISA designations. Mike has been involved with local recruiting efforts for more than 10 years.
In his spare time, Mike likes to read, watch movies, golf, and ride his motorcycle.
Warren Novis

Warren Novis is a Senior Manager in KPMG’s transfer pricing practice, with seven years of combined experience working for KPMG in Toronto and London, UK. Warren joined KPMG in 2004 shortly after earning his Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Engineering from the University of Waterloo. Warren works primarily for large multinational companies in high-technology, consumer markets and financial services sectors. He assists clients to identify, design and implement global pricing strategies with the objective of achieved core business and tax goals for the organization.
In 2010, Warren took the opportunity with KPMG’s Global Mobility program to work for a year abroad in the United Kingdom and to travel around Europe. Outside the office, Warren plays ice hockey, soccer, ultimate frisbee and occasionally teaches fitness classes at the local gym.
Karen Lui
Tax Manager, International Corporate Tax

Karen joined KPMG in 2006 after obtaining her BA at the University of Waterloo. Karen began her career with KPMG as a co-op student in 2005 in the Industrial Markets Audit practice, before joining full-time in October 2006. She transferred to the International Corporate Tax group in July 2007, where she continues to practice. Karen has worked on various Canadian public multinationals and non-residents investing into Canada. She advises Canadian corporations on operating internationally and on structuring domestic and cross-border acquisitions, dispositions, and reorganizations. She also assists non-Canadian corporations on structuring operations in Canada.
While working with KPMG, Karen has been a study buddy for the UFE process and an active member of the Social Committee, planning social events for the International Corporate Tax group. She is also involved with campus recruiting. In her personal time, Karen enjoys travelling and spending time with family and friends.
Vanessa Chan
Specialist/Senior Consultant, Tax

Vanessa joined KPMG in January 2009 as a co-op student before starting full-time with the firm in November 2010 after completing her Master of Accounting at the University of Waterloo. Vanessa started with KPMG as a Senior Consultant in the Financial Institutions and Real Estate Tax group, where she continues to practice.
Since starting with KPMG, Vanessa has been involved with campus recruiting, as well as the UFE process through KPMG’s Study Buddy program. Vanessa is also part of the Social Committee which organizes social events for her tax group and is currently a member on the KPMG Dragon Boat team.
When not at work, Vanessa can either be found trying new restaurants in the downtown core or at the gym. Vanessa also enjoys travelling and is planning to snowboard in the Alps come winter.
Joseph Mauceri
Specialist
Joseph started his KPMG career as a co-op student in the National Tax group doing internal software development. Upon graduation from the University of Waterloo in April of 2009 he joined the Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) practice assisting clients in identifying tax credit opportunities. He is also the lead professional for the Digital Media Tax Credit Incentive program. He has a background in Computer Science and is currently pursuing a CMA designation.
In his spare time he enjoys golfing, playing soccer, and travelling.
Weston Sun

Weston started with KPMG since 2008 as a co-op student from University of Waterloo. After obtaining his Master of Taxation, Weston joined the International Corporation Taxation Services Group of KPMG. Weston transferred from International Corporation Tax Group to US corporate Tax Services Group in 2010. After graduated from University of Western Ontario in 2006 with Gold Medalist, Weston worked for Schaeffer Canada in Strafford, Ontario before joining KPMG.
Weston is passionate about various tax topics, especially international tax issues. In his personal time, Weston enjoys snowboarding, swimming, and soccer.

Graham joined KPMG in 2006 as a co-op student working within the Audit practice, and upon completion of his business degree at Wilfrid Laurier University in 2009, he started there full-time. Since joining the firm he has worked with clients across a wide spectrum of industries and those of various corporate structures. Graham has worked with clients across the manufacturing, information technology, and health care industries.
