Scott has been with KPMG for 16 years and has worked with a wide variety of both private and public companies during this time. His first 4 years with KPMG were spent in Vancouver before transferring to the Calgary office in 2000. Since arriving in Calgary, Scott has gained extensive experience working with numerous technology-based clients, providing a wide range of services, including audit, securities work, and due diligence assignments.
Scott is a board member with the Alberta Science and Technology Foundation and also sits on the Accounting Steering Committee for the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. He is also the partner responsible for KPMG in Calgary’s Campus Recruiting initiatives.
In his spare time, Scott is an avid golfer, and especially enjoys spending time with his wife and four young children.
Mark Tysdal

Mark Tysdal joined KPMG in May 2002 as a summer student from the University of Saskatchewan, and returned full-time in September 2003. Currently, he is a Senior Manager in our Oil and Gas Audit practice, with a focus on mining clients and international audits.
Mark has been involved in recruiting for several years, has helped plan the annual golf tournament, has participated in UFE mentoring, and has worked as a performance manager and a people leader. In the summer of 2008, he had the opportunity to work on a 3-month secondment in KPMG Holland’s Amsterdam office, and has had the chance to travel to Europe multiple times for various audit clients.
Outside of work, Mark enjoys playing softball and golf and working to hone his parenting skills with a four-year old son and a one-year old son. Mark also loves to travel, which has often been satisfied through the travel opportunities noted above, and enjoys trying all kinds of different foods and restaurants.
Taryn Wener

Taryn has worked in a variety of areas in her short time at KPMG; she started her career with KPMG as a co-op student in Toronto in the fall of 2005, and then made the move to Calgary to complete a term as a summer intern in 2006. Taryn returned to Dalhousie University to finish her Bachelor of Commerce prior to returning to Calgary to work full time in the Audit group in the fall of 2007. Taryn then went on to complete the CASB program and pass the UFE in 2009.
While working in the Calgary office, Taryn has had the opportunity to test out a number of different areas, working on large and small audit engagements, travelling across the country and over to London, preparing tax returns in the International Tax group, and working with the Campus Recruiting team on a 3-month temporary secondment in 2008. Upon passing the UFE and completing her third year with KPMG, Taryn took on a 1-year secondment working with the Campus Recruiting team as a Talent Attraction Specialist in the Calgary office and enjoyed this experience so much that she has now become a permanent member of the Talent Attraction Team!
In her free time, when she isn't too busy on campus, Taryn enjoys travelling, biking, volunteering in her community, and spending time with her family and friends.
Shaylyn Ursaki

Shaylyn joined the firm as a summer intern in 2006 and then returned full time in September 2007 after finishing University at the University of Saskatchewan. She has worked in the Oil and Gas audit group since starting full time with the firm. Along with having clients in the Oil and Gas sector in Calgary, she also works on audits for drilling and technology companies.
While at KPMG, Shaylyn has been involved in KPMG’s CASB mentorship program and UFE mentorship program, as well as, helping with many recruiting activities each year. For the past three years Shaylyn has also been involved in planning the KPMG ski/snowboard trip to Fernie.
Shaylyn enjoys travelling and just recently returned from a five week trip to South East Asia and has travelled throughout Europe. She has also done a lot of travelling throughout out Canada and the US. In the winter Shaylyn enjoys heading up to the mountains to ski and in the past couple years has been getting into triathlon training and has successfully completed one so far.
Tim Young

Tim works in the Private Enterprise Practice and has been with KPMG for 12 months, which includes a summer internship and a full busy season. The diverse portfolio of clients he works with expose him to a multitude of industries and organizations from manufacturing to oil and gas to the not-for-profit sector.
While at KPMG, Tim has had the opportunity to organize a variety of social events including the firm-wide UFE marks parties, the Enterprise Christmas party and a practice wide curling event. Tim has also attended the KPMG FastForward Leadership Conference in Hollywood, CA to learn more about the opportunities KPMG offers its employees and to develop and hone his leadership skills.
In his spare time, Tim enjoys playing golf, traveling (an interest that was piqued when he studied abroad and lived in Italy) and giving back to his local community through initiatives that involve inspiring and empowering future business leaders in a high school setting.

Scott Verity has been a member of KPMG since 1985 when he joined one of its predecessor firms, Peat Marwick. He became Office Managing Partner of the Saskatoon office in 2009. Scott completed his Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Saskatchewan and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1987. Scott is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Saskatchewan and currently serves on the Professional Conduct Committee.
Scott has a wide range of experience in Audit and Advisory services. He has significant experience serving public and private clients in the resource, manufacturing, and financial services industries, as well as not-for-profit organizations. Scott focuses on Canadian, US, and International accounting and financial reporting standards.
At KPMG, Scott is active with campus recruiting and performance management as a Performance Counsellor and a People Leader. He is also the Saskatchewan Professional Practice Partner and Learning Leader.
Outside of work, Scott is an active member of the Saskatoon community, including the Avalon Community Association, Saskatoon Youth Soccer, Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce, and Northsask Business Association. Scott is the Board Chair of St. James’ Church and the Refinery Arts Centre.
Beckie Bailey

Beckie Bailey joined KPMG in September 2003 after completing her Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Saskatchewan. Beckie has been in the Saskatoon Audit practice for the past 7 years, and is currently a Manager. Throughout this time, she has worked with a variety of public and private company clients, mainly in the manufacturing and mining industries, and also works with some non-profit organizations.
While at KPMG, Beckie has been involved with campus recruiting, has been a Performance Counsellor for several team members, and has also been a People Leader at her local office.
Outside of work, Beckie enjoys participating in sports, such as golf, recreational softball, and hockey, and is an active member of the University of Saskatchewan Women’s Hockey alumni.
