Assistant Commissioner of Metropolitan Police, London joins KPMG

KPMG in Canada announced today that Ian McPherson, former Assistant Commissioner of Territorial Policing at the Metropolitan Police Service in London, UK, will be joining the firm as a Partner.

Based in Toronto, Ian McPherson will work with KPMG's Global Centre of Excellence for Justice and Security, leading its work throughout North America. In this role, he will provide advice on public sector and government strategy to KPMG's clients in Canada and around the world. "Ian brings a wealth of experience to the firm," said Jeff Smith, KPMG's Canadian Managing Partner, Advisory Services. As governments look to find great efficiencies and effectiveness, Ian's experience is a valuable asset to our Canadian clients."

In his previous role, McPherson led the largest command in the Metropolitan Police Service. He was responsible for developing an innovative, widespread modernization program to reduce inefficiencies and increase effectiveness while continuing to cut crime in the United Kingdom's capital and largest metropolitan region.

"I am thrilled to be joining KPMG's vast network of industry professionals," says McPherson. "I look forward to working with the firm to find smart and effective justice and security infrastructure solutions for Canada and countries around the world."
