The global member firm network has identified a need to hire approximately 250,000 new hires over the next five years and graduate recruitment plays an essential role in meeting the firm’s long term global growth strategy. New hires will be integrated into all of KPMG’s functional areas – Audit, Tax, and Advisory, and Internal Firm Services.
KPMG in Canada is expected to recruit around 800 new and returning full time graduates, and around 500
undergraduates through our summer internship and co-op programs in the coming two years. “At KPMG, we aim to attract and develop the very best people by implementing outstanding programs that cater to our employees’ needs. We have kept the number high even though there is a recession and we are forecasting steady hiring during these turbulent times,” said Mario Paron, Chief Human Resources Officer at KPMG in Canada.
“Globalization is increasingly impacting our clients’ world, so ensuring our future leaders have a strong understanding of global business complexities is critical to our business,” said Rachel Campbell, Global Head of People, KPMG International. “Through our global campus recruitment and ongoing talent development programs, KPMG’s network of member firms will be prepared with a workforce to meet our clients’ needs anywhere in the world to drive forward our high performance culture.”
Once graduates are hired full-time, KPMG’s member firms provide employees access to a number of career development opportunities. A signature people initiative is KPMG’s Global Opportunities (GO) mobility program that encompasses short or long-term work assignments around the world. Since its inception in 2007, over 8,000 employees have completed GO assignments or a “Tax Trek” (KPMG’s Tax mobility program for early career tax professionals)
.
Proof that KPMG’s commitment to developing young talent resonates with students worldwide is being ranked second in Universum’s 2010 index of the “world’s most attractive employers.” The ranking also placed KPMG ahead of all the other “Big 4” member firms.
