– KPMG LLP (KPMG) is investing in Atlantic Canada with the opening of a new office in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.
The decision to open a new office in St. John’s is in response to the growing demand by local and multinational companies for sound business advice to help capitalize on the growth in economic activity, corporate transactions, and the influx of new businesses and investments into the province. To meet this demand, KPMG has also embarked on an external and internal recruiting campaign to attract outstanding local professionals and also bring talented professionals with ties to Newfoundland and Labrador back home.
“KPMG is thrilled to be a part of the current and future economic growth of Newfoundland and Labrador,” says Doug Reid, Managing Partner, Atlantic Region, KPMG. “As a leader in providing professional services and advising Canada’s leading corporations and entrepreneurs, our team is eager to share their knowledge and experience with the local business community.”
KPMG veterans, Gail Hamilton and Kevin Sullivan will lead the local team of business consultants. The audit and tax team is also joined by Janice Connors, a leading U.S. tax specialist who has relocated back to St. John’s from Calgary and will provide on-the-ground counsel on cross-border related taxation.
“Our firm sees a significant opportunity in Newfoundland and Labrador,” adds Gail Hamilton, Partner, KPMG. “The province is poised for continued growth in the years to come. We have been told by local business leaders that KPMG’s service offerings will be a welcome addition to the business landscape in St. John’s.”
