TORONTO, February 19, 2013 – KPMG today announced that it has once again been named one of Canada's Best Diversity Employers. The recognition by Mediacorp Canada Inc. marks the sixth consecutive time the firm has received this honour.
“A top-down, organization-wide commitment to inclusiveness and continuous improvement is key to KPMG’s success in diversity management,” Kristy Carscallen, Partner and Chief Human Resources Officer at KPMG. “This accolade helps us celebrate our accomplishments, and also reinforces KPMG’s commitment to creating a culture of inclusiveness, ensuring our people reach their full potential and achieve phenomenal careers.”
KPMG’s leading-edge inclusiveness efforts include a Women's Interchange Network (WIN) that provides support and networking opportunities to female employees across the firm. The organization also offers a number of people networks and clubs such as the East Asian Network and a Caribbean network, and requires all employees to complete mandatory diversity in the workplace training. In addition, KPMG has launched a global diversity site and offers a variety of other support networks and diversity resources for its employees.
Canada's Best Diversity Employers recognizes employers across Canada that have exceptional workplace diversity and inclusiveness programs. The competition examines a range of diversity initiatives covering five major employee groups: (a) Women; (b) Members of visible minorities; (c) Persons with disabilities; (d) Aboriginal peoples; and (e) Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered/Transsexual (LGBT) peoples.
