KPMG Acquires IT/NET Group Inc.

Leading professional services firms join forces to help organizations achieve their transformation goals

TORONTO, September 27, 2010 – KPMG LLP (Canada) announced today that it has acquired IT/NET Group Inc., a 70-member consulting firm specializing in IT management consulting services and public sector transformation. The transaction closed on September 27, 2010

“The addition of IT/NET’s people and knowledge enhances KPMG’s ability to deliver top-tier Advisory services to our public sector clients, in particular with their transformation challenges,” said Bill Thomas, CEO of KPMG.

Bringing an 18-year reputation for independent recommendations and exceptional execution, IT/NET is widely recognized within the public and private sectors for its specialized capability in developing and aligning ICT solutions rooted in business needs. This capability is essential to delivering IT-enabled business transformation.

“IT/NET’s core skills are very much in demand. They complement KPMG’s deep management and technical know-how in the IT space and contribute to our complete Advisory Services portfolio for all of our clients,” said Ken Cochrane.

Ken Cochrane, a Senior Leader of KPMG’s IT Advisory Services, will oversee the integration of IT/NET and KPMG’s capabilities, leveraging leading operating models that can help ensure the delivery of exceptional client service. One of the most respected technology leaders in the country, Ken Cochrane, formerly the CIO of the Canadian Federal Government, is highly regarded among senior public sector officials in Canada and across the globe. His experience and knowledge provide a deep understanding of the issues that the public sector faces.

“We are pleased to be aligning with an organization like KPMG, which has a strong and growing Advisory practice, true international reach, and a deep commitment to serving the ever-changing needs of the public sector,” said Alex Beraskow, President, CEO, and Founder of IT/NET. “IT/NET is about its people and we are proud to have some of the sharpest minds in professional services as part of our team. Today’s announcement is very positive for IT/NET and its clients.”

KPMG has a wide range of Advisory Services designed to assist organizations with the management of technology investments and risks by aligning IT capabilities with overall business strategy and enabling successful business transformations. Like IT/NET, KPMG is independent of solution vendors, system integration vendors, and IT and business process outsourcers, and is therefore able to offer unbiased advice and assistance.
