Canada and Israel Begin Tax Treaty Negotiations

Paul Hickey
Toronto, National Tax Centre

Negotiations to update the income tax treaty between Canada and Israel will commence the week of January 9, 2012, according to a news release Finance issued. The release asks parties whose interests will be affected by the negotiations to inform Finance of any particular issues of double taxation that might be taken into account. Finance notes that it is particularly interested in learning of any difficulties that might be encountered by Canadians under Israel's tax system.
