Revenu Quebec has announced that interest and penalties will not be applied to individual taxpayers filing their 2013 tax returns by May 5, 2014 (from April 30, 2014) to harmonize with the federal filing extension. Previously, the CRA stated that it would extend the date due to a temporary shut down of its online services to fix a security issue. The extension does not appear to apply to corporate or other returns.

Revenu Quebec said it would offer the same extension as the CRA, even though its own online services were not affected.
