Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE)

SIFE is an international non-profit organisation, working across 39 countries to help young people gain financial knowledge to develop community projects. Each year, the effectiveness of each team's program is judged by leaders from the business community in regional and national competitions.

Globally, KPMG has been a major sponsor of SIFE since 1990. KPMG China's collaboration with SIFE in China and Hong Kong SAR dates from 2004. For the academic year 2010-2011, 79 KPMG China staff from 9 offices volunteered to be business advisors for 82 SIFE projects. Working with SIFE we have watched these students bringing their ideas to life to provide real, sustainable benefits to their local communities.

Besides, SIFE holds an annual series of regional and national competitions, giving SIFE students the chance to present the results of their projects and business leaders an opportunity to evaluate them. Our partners and senior managers also have served as judges in SIFE competitions.

In the national SIFE competition held on May 19-20, Tianjin University SIFE team won the second place with our business advisory's guidance.
