Hong Kong, 27 June 2008

On 1st July, KPMG China will appoint, 35 partners and principals to support the firm's continued expansion in China and embrace challenges and opportunities in the growing market there.

"Over the past year, KPMG China has grown solidly, opening offices in Fuzhou and Shenyang in 2007 and in Nanjing this month. Today, KPMG is one of the largest professional services firms in China." said Carlson Tong, Chairman, KPMG China.

"Our new partners cover all of our three core functions: Audit, Tax and Advisory. Their appointments will strengthen our capability to provide our clients with comprehensive business advice to assist their growth in China," Mr. Tong noted.

KPMG has deployed considerable resources to develop China's market. Over the past three years, the firm has doubled the size of its workforce to over 7,000 people, and it plans to grow to 10,000 people by 2011.

John Harrison, Chairman, KPMG China, highlighted that the appointment of new partners is only part of KPMG's growth strategy, which will be supplemented by other recruitment and development initiatives.

"This year, we are planning to recruit 2,000 new graduates and 500 experienced professionals. We will foster our people by providing them with comprehensive training and development opportunities, so that they are well-equipped to provide the best services to our clients," Mr. Harrison said.
