"Our new partners cover all of our three core functions: Audit, Tax and Advisory. Their appointments will strengthen our capability to provide our clients with comprehensive business advice to assist their growth in China," Mr. Tong noted.

KPMG has deployed considerable resources to develop China's market. Over the past three years, the firm has doubled the size of its workforce to over 7,000 people, and it plans to grow to 10,000 people by 2011.

John Harrison, Chairman, KPMG China, highlighted that the appointment of new partners is only part of KPMG's growth strategy, which will be supplemented by other recruitment and development initiatives.

"This year, we are planning to recruit 2,000 new graduates and 500 experienced professionals. We will foster our people by providing them with comprehensive training and development opportunities, so that they are well-equipped to provide the best services to our clients," Mr. Harrison said.
