KPMG hosts 2008 China Global Conference in Shanghai

Shanghai, 6 May 2008

KPMG is pleased to host the 2008 China Global Conference on 7-8 May in Shanghai. The two-day conference will include a range of presentations, panel discussions and breakout sessions to help participants learn about in-bound and out-bound business opportunities in China.

With an annual GDP growth of at least 8 percent since 2000, China is presenting enormous business opportunities to foreign investors. At the same time, Chinese companies are also growing at an unparalleled pace, taking advantage of the economic reform and opening up of China since 1978. Many domestic companies have built their presence in international markets, while the others are also ready to explore business opportunities overseas.

"This is the second time we are hosting the China Global Conference and we wish to make it a platform for the business community to discuss key issues and opportunities for Chinese companies going overseas," said Nelson Fung, Head of China Global and Managing Partner, KPMG in Shanghai. "As one of the leading professional services firms, we would also like to share with participants our expertise and first-hand experience of helping companies in China."

This event will include speakers from KPMG, the government authority, financial institutions, the manufacturing and energy sectors, technology and software companies and media organisations. Over 150 senior executives will participate in the conference.

During the conference we will cover a great variety of topics, such as structural trends in China's economy, China's experience in global market, consumer markets in China, as well as global investment environment and opportunities.

KPMG launched the first China Global Conference in 2006.
