The Mainland China Banking Survey has become the keynote Financial Services publication for KPMG and this year's survey is the largest to date, containing the summary financial information for 153 banks in China representing 89% of total banking assets as well as the financials for 23 of the 35 locally incorporated foreign banks. Areas which are a key focus for our banking survey this year included private banking, consumer finance and the development of the microfinance and rural banking.
