New normal Consolidation Personnel costs Loss making Large banks

Clarity on Performance of Swiss Private Banks 

Relatively low net new money, falling revenue margins and profitability and persistently high costs per employee – such is the current situation of private banks in Switzerland. This will further accelerate the consolidation that has already significantly kicked off in 2014. The study by KPMG and the University of St. Gallen (HSG) analyzed the annual reports of 94 Swiss private banks, assessing their financial performance to identify success factors in the industry.
