  • Please structure your cover letter in meaningful paragraphs.
  • Avoid spelling mistakes. First impressions count!
  • The cover letter should not be longer than one A4 page and the font size should be at least 10 points.
  • Do not use a US template for your CV.
  • Highlight relevant and interesting details in your CV.
  • List your most recent experience first.
  • Complement your work experience with brief job descriptions.

A meaningful application includes all reference letters and grade transcripts in chronological order. (See "How to apply correctly")

Job interview: Preparation

  • Get familiar with KPMG and the advertized position.
  • Find out more about your interviewers.
  • Think carefully about why you are interested in the particular position / department.
  • Think of reasons why you are the ideal candidate for this position.
  • your own questions and ask them during the interview.
  • If necessary, prepare questions on your future work environment and framework conditions
  • Bring a notepad and pens to the interview.
  • Wear business attire to the interview.

Job interview: Procedure

  • Your interviewers will introduce themselves first.
  • Then, you will have the chance to present yourself and your personal background and development.
  • In the course of the interview, we will ask you what motivated you to apply for the position and why you would like to work for our company. We will also ask questions about your CV and your expectations.
  • Towards the end of the interview, we will communicate how the application process will continue.

Job interview: Body language

  • Take the initiative in approaching your interviewer and shake hands.
  • Maintain eye contact.
  • Keep a natural and open posture and speak with an unstudied tone.
  • Remember that it is fine to reflect a minute before answering a question. Still, you should not wait too long with coming up with an answer; otherwise you come across as insecure.
  • Be true to yourself and don't search for the "right" answer. A too strong desire to please only makes you insecure.
  • Sit straight and quietly in your chair, using the entire seating surface. Sitting on the edge of the chair suggests that you are not feeling well and would rather leave the room.
  • It is important to feel the ground below your feet, as this will calm you.

Job interview: Conclusion

  • Have all your questions been answered? If not, this is your last chance to ask them.
  • Ask your interviewer about the next steps in the application process, as it is very important that you know them in detail.
  • Say goodbye to your interviewers using their names, thanking them for the opportunity to talk to them.
