He will also assume responsibility for the banking sector. Philipp Rickert will be succeeding Daniel Senn, who, after sixteen years with KPMG, has decided on a new career move outside the company. KPMG thanks Daniel Senn for his enormous contribution and we will continue to maintain close ties with him in the future.
With effect from 1 February 2013, KPMG Switzerland has appointed Philipp Rickert (46) as a new member of the Executive Committee. The certified public accountant, who holds degrees in economics and jurisprudence from the University of St. Gallen (HSG), will assume responsibility for KPMG’s market presence in its dealings with banks in addition to his current role as Head of Audit Financial Services.
Philipp Rickert joined KPMG in 1996, working as a banking expert in national and international operations. Made Partner in 2003, he took on overall responsibility for KPMG’s audits of banks and insurance companies in Switzerland in 2011 as Head of Audit Financial Services, since which time he has enjoyed great success in further developing this area.
As part of a reorganization of responsibilities in Financial Services, KPMG has also appointed Marc Gössi as Head of Financial Services. A Partner and certified public accountant, 42-year-old Gössi has enjoyed success in realigning the Management Consulting service group since 2011 and will continue his duties in this area. From 1 May 2013 onward, he will be responsible for the overall coordination of market activities targeted at banks, insurers and asset management companies.
With effect from 1 May 2013, the insurance sector at KPMG Switzerland will be led by Brian Greig. Greig, 54, who holds joint Swiss and Australian citizenship and is a Partner at KPMG, has been with the company since 1980. Until recently, he was Sector Head of Insurance at KPMG Australia, member of the KPMG Global Insurance Leadership team and a member of the Board and Deputy Chairman of KPMG Australia. He is no stranger to the insurance market in Switzerland, having been responsible for this area between 1999 and 2002.
