Hieronymus T. Dormann is taking charge of the Insurance division at KPMG Switzerland with effect from 1 October 2013. Dormann has many years of experience in dealing with insurance companies in both an audit and advisory capacity, as well as helping other national and international clients with insurance-related issues.
KPMG Switzerland has appointed Hieronymus T. Dormann (53), who has a degree in economics from the University of St. Gallen, to be the new Head of Insurance with effect from 1 October 2013. He will take over from Brian Greig, who is returning to KPMG Australia. The main area of future responsibility for Hieronymus T. Dormann will be to manage and coordinate the various market-oriented services provided for insurance companies. This includes audit duties, assessing complex issues relating to regulation, actuarial and quantitative risk management and providing advice on tax, legal and operational matters.
Hieronymus T. Dormann has been with KPMG since 1985 and became a Partner in 1997. From 1997 to 2003 he was Head of Audit Financial Services. Dormann is a qualified financial auditor and studied economics at the University of St. Gallen (HSG). He has been involved for a number of years in the Treuhand-Kammer (Switzerland’s institute for certified accountants), particularly the area devoted to training and development, and is currently chair of its specialist insurance commission.
