KPMG Switzerland has appointed Fabien Lussu (43), certified accountant, as the new Sector Head Consumer Goods & Retail as of 1 May 2014. He will take over for Stéphane Gard who is leaving the company. Fabien Lussu’s future area of responsibility will encompass the coordination of multinational mandates in the areas of consumer goods and retail. Not only will Mr Lussu be able to apply his profound knowledge of the industry but also his extensive experience in the coordination of cross-functional projects.
Fabien Lussu’s main areas of expertise include conducting audits in compliance with international accounting standards as well as providing consulting services on complex issues surrounding risk management and M&A transactions. KPMG is confident that it has chosen the right person for the job and that Mr Lussu will be able to satisfy the diverse needs of this extremely international and dynamic sector. “The consumer goods industry must give top priority to the generation of ‘right growth’. These days players within the industry have little room for maneuver in an environment where the challenges are many, varied and complex,” points out Fabien Lussu. "The industry must look to develop the kind of growth which adds sustainable value. This means taking advantage of the right opportunities, maintaining margins and growing by means of innovation, organic expansion and acquisitions. In addition, the significant increase in online business calls for companies to adapt their strategies to suit 'modern consumers', and many companies will have to invest in data analysis tools in order to understand them better."
Fabien Lussu joined KPMG in 1999 as auditor. He worked at KPMG in New York from 2003 to 2005 within the scope of an overseas assignment and specialized in the auditing of multinational companies.
