Tax Agreement Germany-Switzerland: current developments in Spring 2012

On 29 March 2012, the German opposition parties seemed to accept the tax agreement with Switzerland signed on 21 September 2011. However, an immediate change occurred.

Due to security reasons regarding the accurate reporting of the assets held in Switzerland and the anonymous regularization of the past, the opposition parties decided to reject the current version of the treaty. Despite this drawback, the amendments in the agreement have been fixed and shall be imntroduced to the legislative procedure.
