In addition to the financial and debt crisis, Swiss private banks are also facing other challenges, ranging from increasing international pressure placed on Switzerland as a financial center, the manifold new regulations as well as the defensive strategies clients are taking in regard to their investments. Our latest analysis looks at the financial developments in the industry since the beginning of the global financial crisis and shows the actors involved the possible reactions. The present study should be read as a further tome to the already existing studies on private banks that have been published by KPMG and the University of St. Gallen since 2009.
