Therese Amstutz is an Attorney-at-Law in the Zurich office.
She studied law at the University of Berne and passed the bar exam in 1986. In 1997 Therese obtained an LL.M. from Dickinson School of Law, Carlisle, PA, USA, and in 1998 she was admitted to the New York bar.
Prior to joining KPMG in 1998, Therese was a legal counsel with a leading Swiss bank.
She advises Swiss and foreign corporate clients and individuals in almost all aspects of business law. Her key areas of experience are corporate law, capital markets, mergers & acquisitions, contract law and banking law.
Therese Amstutz is a member of the Capital Markets Practice Group, the Banking & Finance Law Practice Group and the Corporate Law Practice Group of KPMG.
She has published on the following topics: the liability of auditors for comfort letters and the duty to disclose major shareholders under banking law. Further, she is a co-author of KPMG's commentary on Corporate Governance and of a KPMG publication on the new Swiss consumer credit act.
