Each year, employers are evaluated according to the programs used to foster outstanding work environments for attracting and maintaining young talent. Some attractive workplace benefits include mentorship, work study options, tuition assistance, and career management programs—all of which the firm itself supports and believes are crucial to building lasting relationships with young people.
As the sponsor for Canada’s Top Employers for Young People award, we wanted to hear what young people thought makes a top employer and the “What Makes a Top Employer” Contest was created. We asked Canadian students enrolled in a full or part-time college or university program, to create a video telling us what they thought makes a top employer for a chance to win great prizes. The winner, Jillian Walker from the University of Lethbridge, won an Apple iPad and the opportunity to meet one-on-one with five CEOs from top organizations, including KPMG’s Bill Thomas.
KPMG firmly believes in supporting young people and cultivating an environment that enables the next generation of leaders. The firm hopes that insights gained from this contest can be used to further contribute to this goal.
