To support the provision of advisory services to these institutions, the KPMG network has set up a dedicated EU desk in Brussels. The EU desk will be the coordination point for the KPMG network’s support related to EU projects.
The EU desk team is closely monitoring EU developments, such as the Lisbon agenda, climate change, regulation of financial services, direct and indirect taxation, energy and transport, immigration, health, external borders, pre-accession, and so on.
The EU desk comprises a team of specialists who manage KPMG relationships with all EU institutions, namely the European Commission, European Parliament and other EU specialized agencies.
The team liaises with KPMG’s European and worldwide network of member firms and specialists, present in 145 countries, regarding a wide range of services. This includes advisory services related to audit, internal controls, financial management, program management, tax and benchmarking studies.
The EU desk is therefore acting as the single point of contact for the coordination of the KPMG network’s involvement with the EU, enabling the KPMG network to respond quickly and effectively to the specifics of an EU request for advisory and tax services. Our unit is familiar with the EU procedures and internal workings in the European Union, but also in countries covered by EuropeAid funding (IPA, ENPI, ACP, etc.)
The EU desk also cooperates with other KPMG network offices to work with International Organizations. For example, our Geneva-based UN desk and Development Advisory Services are working with International Organizations in Africa, based in Nairobi.
