KPMG in Russia provided the 2013 economic overview of Russia and the tax and legal issues that are important for those who are planning to do business in Russia in 2013.

 

Russia is the world’s largest country in terms of territory. The country became increasingly integrated into the global economy over the last decade. This fuelled its rapid economic growth in the early part of this century, but integration comes at a price and the headwinds facing the world economy today threaten Russia also.

 

Russia has also made significant strides on the path of innovation-based development. The government has shown support by allocating substantial budget funds for innovation-based plans.

 

The Russian President has already declared that the county’s goal is to gradually change from an oil and raw materials-oriented economy to a technology-oriented one
