In Australia, KPMG’s Audit practice consists of more than 90 partners and 1100 audit professionals. Each audit professional is part of a dedicated industry group and works with clients from that group.
Auditors are expected to exhibit strong independence of mind and an absolute commitment to their professional integrity.
As a new auditor, you’ll spend most of your time as part of an audit team at client sites. You’ll liaise with client management and develop a sound understanding of client business processes and accounting procedures. You’ll be expected to recommend improvements to client systems, business processes and controls.
Working in teams means you’ll develop good interpersonal and communication skills and work with a team of professionals who are leaders in their field.
You should possess (or be studying for) a degree in commerce or business, majoring in accounting. Generally, you must also have completed all the appropriate accredited courses/subjects to be eligible to commence the Chartered Accountant (CA) program when you join KPMG. The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA) can provide details of these accredited courses.
Following changes in the entry requirements for the Chartered Accountants Program, the ICAA will now be allowing non-accounting graduates to complete the CA Program.
