Over 150 representatives of community, business, unions and government, as well as academics and other tax experts met in Canberra to discuss priorities and directions for further tax reform.
Rosheen Garnon, KPMG National Managing Partner - Tax participated in the Tax Forum and looks forward to helping shape and frame the nation's tax reform agenda. Her observations are available in Mapping the tax reform journey.
KPMG believes there is a need to build a strong and enduring consensus for tax reform and the Government has tried to do this with a consultative Tax Forum coupled with a number of individual initiatives. Whilst the next steps in the tax reform process once again focus on certain aspects of the Henry Review, they are nevertheless a positive development. KPMG remains committed to continuing to play an active role in this process.
