KPMG appoints John Fitzgerald as Specialist Advisor, Infrastructure 

29 August 2011 - KPMG in Australia has appointed John Fitzgerald as Specialist Adviser to its Infrastructure Group, commencing 1 September 2011. In this role, John will primarily focus on the Victorian and NSW markets with a particular emphasis on infrastructure and complex service contracts.

"John has been instrumental in the development of the infrastructure market in Australia. His significant knowledge and experience will further enhance KPMG’s highly-respected reputation in the infrastructure advisory arena," said Graham Brooke, Partner in Charge of KPMG’s Infrastructure & Projects Group.

 

John has 30 years of commercial and financial experience in infrastructure, project finance, property finance, securitisation and debt capital markets. Most recently, John was Deputy Secretary, Commercial Division, Department of Treasury & Finance, Victoria, where he was responsible for the provision of strategic commercial, financial and risk management advice to the Victorian Government. This included managing the State’s balance sheet, prudential supervision of the public financial corporations, Public Private Partnerships (PPP’s), infrastructure investment, commercial and property transactions and the monitoring and governance of the State’s major Government Business Enterprises. He also chaired the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) Infrastructure Working Group’s development of the national PPP policy and guidelines.

 

Prior to joining the Victorian Government, John held senior management positions with AIDC, Deutsche Bank and the Commonwealth Bank. He is also a director on the National Advisory Board of Infrastructure Partnerships Australia.
