“Queensland remains a key market for our national firm, presenting significant domestic and international growth opportunities in areas including oil and gas, infrastructure, agribusiness and international trade. KPMG’s Private Enterprise business has experienced strong growth in recent years and we remain committed to further investing in and growing our middle market business,” said Peter Siebels, KPMG’s head of Private Enterprise.
The mutually agreed decision to exit Cairns follows a winding back of sub-license agreements globally by KPMG International, and also reflects the desire of KPMG’s national and Cairns practices to pursue different strategic directions.
“The Cairns local practice is a leader in its market and we wish the team every success in their future endeavours,” added Mr Siebels.
Gerry Mier, Partner in Charge KPMG Cairns said, “We have appreciated being part of the KPMG network for many years and will continue to enjoy a positive rapport with our colleagues going forward.”
