Migration Newsflash: Nomination ceiling for Standard Business Sponsorships/LMT

Effective 14 February 2014, all standard business sponsorship applications approved will no longer be subject to a nomination ceiling, meaning a business will not be limited on the number subclass 457 visa applications lodged under a specific sponsorship.
We see this change in immigration policy as an example of the government’s continued focus on facilitating business, however this goes hand in hand with their continued strong focus on maintaining the integrity of the program.

Reverting back to sponsorships with no nomination ceilings will be welcomed by business, however it is important that businesses continue to provide training and development opportunities for Australians as a first preference and that they continue to refine their immigration management and reporting tools to ensure immigration compliance.
