KPMG LLP has taken first place in Accounting News Report’s ranking of audit firms for the full calendar year 2011 in U.S. The showing was impressive: KPMG in U.S. finished first in four of the five categories that determine the rankings – net revenue audited, net assets audited, net market cap audited and net gain in audit fees – finishing far ahead of its nearest competitor.
This followed up the firm’s first place ranking in the fourth quarter of the same rankings – which are based on SEC auditor change data.
Achieving this top ranking is an outstanding accomplishment on its own – one made even more impressive by the intensely competitive market we faced in 2011. The U.S. firm had many important client wins this year, such as Sallie Mae, Dillard’s, the U.S. Department of Transportation and others that helped to expand the brand. Our colleagues also did an excellent job at protecting their portfolio by providing exceptional client service.
“This is an outstanding accomplishment for the Audit practice,” said Jim Liddy, Audit Vice Chair of KPMG LLP (U.S.). “This is a direct result of the time and effort that our Audit partners and our people have put into growing our practice this year.”
